Interesting article on bike pedal systems. I have the Shimano DOUBLE SPD on my MTB bike and I was looking for which type of pedal system i should use on the road bike.

I use Giro Privateer shoes with SPD pedals on my road bike. Comfortable and easy to walk around in plus the cleats are cheap and easy to use. I've never had an issue with comfort on long rides because it's a small platform.
I also selected the SPD pedals for the road bike for the same reason.
