Siemens, Deutsche Bahn launch local hydrogen trains trial

 "Siemens Mobility and Deutsche Bahn have started developing hydrogen-powered fuel cell trains and a filling station which will be trialled in 2024 with view to replace diesel engines on German local rail networks."

Fuel Cells are well fit for rail networks. Cheaper than electrifying the rail network.

San Bernardino to introduce first U.S. hydrogen train

San Bernardino County Transportation Authority (SBCTA) has awarded a contract to Stadler for a hydrogen-powered train, which will become the first to operate in the United States.
