what is with Australian non cyclists and the idea of riders having license plates. Going to kill social/casual cycling which will have a community and family health impact

Crazy how they seem to continually get it wrong when it comes to cycling.

I am in Melbourne Oz. 25 of years cycling. Cycling is booming here and ever growing yearly. Helmets or not. We love to ride here.
This helmet will never happen despite a enthusiastic approach from Mosman council. Seen all these great ideas presented before in the news and have never followed through. Good luck to Sydney Mosman council getting the helmet with rider registration, approved and enforced. Since every car on the road is licenced, according to thier 'logic; there should be zero traffic accidents by virtue of the enormous revenue being screwed out of everyday people and cyclists!
Here...our biggest enemy and issue is cars, the lack of acceptance by motorists, non care, negative attitudes and awareness for a cyclist.

It's a monstrosity.

I was in/around Melbourne for 13 years and couldn't get over the hate and aggression towards cyclist from cars. The selfishness and aggression is just over whelming - oh sorry was it an inconvenience to you to have to change lanes to go around 5 healthy fun loving cyclists? Boohoo

Phillip Paton Melbourne I love! Ever do any riding 2 abreast  (legal here on 2 lane roads) within Melbourne and/or country areas? Got overtaken and called a farkin hunt and I am not meant to be on the roads and I should die. This only 1 example of many occurrences and clashes. How is a helmet going to change anything with attitudes like that? What does a helmet have anything to do with this!? Ah......government and council revenue! Silly me I keep forgetting. ;-)

Doesn't seem very lightweight or aero.
