Preparing a Trip with my bike. It is Sunday!!!
Preparing a Trip with my bike. It is Sunday!!!
Tips on how to prepare a trip (on road or off road) for a BTT (Mountain Bike).
I use a Garmin GPS with my bike and before a trip I load the route on the Garmin to provide me driving guidance. Usually I do a different route every week many times off road.
* To get a route created by someone else I use the site: http://www.gpsies.com You can find routes for bike, trails, family wakings, etc.
* To create a route your self I use the site http://bikeroutetoaster.com/BRTWebUI/ This is great free tool to design your own tracks. It can export in several formats including Garmin.
I convert Tracks to Routes using Garmin Basecamp and transfer the route to the device.
As an example you can see some Routes I created in Bikeroutetoaster:

A trip to the local mountain close to where I live

A route mostly off-road along the sea shore where I live
During the trips I use Endomondo to record my exercise plan. You can share (or not) your training exercises (i share some exercises with my friends):

This is a local mountain trip created with bikeroutetoaster.
This is fun and helps to keep fit.
